  • Are you a prisoner of the moment?

    Author: Alex Stevenson

Social media has infiltrated every corner of our existence, but have you dared to confront the grim reality of its effects on your mental health? In this article, we will dissect the disturbing negative consequences of social media and how it lays bare our most authentic selves—or perhaps our manufactured facades. Is it truly wiser to ditch the digital platforms altogether? Are we merely prisoners trapped in an endless scroll of fleeting moments? These are crucial questions that demand your attention.

Alright, folks, let’s tackle this topic that’s been beaten to death more times than a piñata at a kid’s birthday party. So, what makes this article different? Spoiler alert: absolutely nothing! But hey, Alex, we can’t wait to hear your wild thoughts on this! Before we plunge into the rabbit hole, let me express my gratitude for your valuable time—like, seriously, do you have a clock in your pocket or what? Now, let’s get to the juicy bits: social media—it’s like a petri dish that grows the worst versions of us. Buckle up!

It can inspire us to connect deeply with our friends and loved ones, who often have our best interests at heart. While the influx of information and content may feel intense at times, it can also encourage us to take refreshing breaks from social media and recharge. This phenomenon occurs because the internet serves as a vibrant portal of imagination, inviting us to explore and create wisely. Just as we learn to use every facility in our homes, we can navigate the internet thoughtfully to cultivate joy rather than experience burnout.

Another aspect to consider is the impact of social media on our spirits. It’s easy to overlook how deeply connected we are to what we consume online. Therefore, it’s crucial to be gentle with ourselves and mindful of what we expose our hearts and minds to. Are we truly better off without social media? If you find yourself with an account, it’s understandable that deleting it feels daunting. I encourage you to focus on using social media in a way that enriches your life, seeking out platforms that offer valuable information or opportunities to support your financial well-being.

Stop for a moment and really examine your search history; it’s a mirror reflecting your deepest fears, wildest desires, and hidden interests. Let’s face it: social media algorithms are crafted to ensnare us, and ignoring this reality is a dangerous game. Here’s a truth that many overlook—social media addiction isn’t just a teenage problem. People in their 40s and 50s are diving headfirst into this digital abyss and are often even more engulfed by it. Have you encountered that trend with “stone-faced” Gen Z? It may provoke a laugh, but it’s nothing less than a chilling testament to the toxic experiences they’ve endured on social media.

Just like a computer, our spirits can get “infected” by the toxic sludge of social media. It’s a duplicitous wasteland, where the charming old lady in HR might just be a venom-spitting troll on Twitter with a different username. In short, social media can wreak havoc on our eyes, minds, and souls. It’s crucial to wield it like a double-edged sword and be brutally aware of the filth we consume. Let’s refuse to be prisoners of the moment and instead, harness social media as a weapon for growth and authentic connection. Thanks for indulging in this rant—I hope you have a rebellious day.

  • The Trouble We Get Into Not Knowing Better.

    Author: Alex Stevenson

    Date: 8/30/25 8:30 a.m

Once again, we have our beloved boxer Gervontae Davis in the news for an alleged violence case. I want to say first, it’s innocent until proven guilty in the court of law. But can we all have a real moment! We’ve all gotten into trouble in our youth or currently; it always amazes me how people have selective compassion & understanding. It seems to me it all depends on if you like the person who’s being accused; remember, that’s not how the court system operates.

We have to understand that as a fighter, Tank already has an attack-first, ask-questions-later mindset. Tank has been boxing since he was an adolescent; he’s been trained to fight first before thinking about what’s next. Also, you have to factor in he was raised in Baltimore; I don’t know how many of you have been there, but picture Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” scene where he started dancing with other zombies. When you grow up in that environment, you usually come out a certain way.

Can we have a real moment? Why is it surprising when a fighter gets in trouble for fighting when that’s what they do to make a living? We also have to factor in Gervontae wasn’t raised with both his parents. Now, when you have a certain perspective and you make millions of dollars, it’s hard to check your ego sometimes. Really, there is nobody to mentor Tank on life and dealing with people in a relationship. I view this situation as a tragic cautionary tale.

But in life, we have to accept the bad & good; we have good people and bad people — it’s just a part of life. You will see so many people castigate this young man; if you notice these events keep occurring over and over, so that means the approach we take is wrong. Gervontae represents all of us in a way. I’ve heard good things he’s done for his community, but that doesn’t get highlighted.

He has property there, he invests in the community, & he also gives food away. But once again, we have to take the bad with the good. I try to have a little compassion because I’ve messed up before. I always wanted a little understanding which I rarely received; sometimes people grow out of their way, but sometimes they just get worse.

Be careful who you share your secrets with.

Don’t we all have the same story with friends and family? It starts out great but ends wrong; or somewhere in the middle of the road something was said that hurt your feelings. That roast was brutal that night and was the harshest roast of the last 10 years.

Have you ever noticed the strength people demonstrate when overcoming deceit? The movie Joker explored various layers of trauma and misinformation, ultimately helping us understand the main character’s journey towards self-discovery. Alongside his struggles, Joker found ways to navigate his surroundings and confront his challenges, highlighting the resilience of the human spirit.

Many young men find themselves ensnared in this reality, an unfortunate consequence of not being properly guided during their formative years. Joaquin, bound by a sense of duty to care for his mother, sacrificed the prospect of building a family of his own, stunting his growth into manhood. The weight of this responsibility anchored him in a mindset that prevented him from fully embracing his potential and stepping into the world as the man he could have been.

Even if the mother lives with him, and he has to constantly look after her instead of his own family, it becomes a burden that is too heavy for him to bear. Due to the absence of fathers in many homes, young men in America face unnecessary pressure to take care of their mothers. However, this is only half of the problem. Joker now has to navigate adulthood without any guidance, and we can see how he is treated at work by his coworkers and the children who took his sign from him.

The scene where he lashed out on Morty was a result of years of misinformation he was not taught as a child. While some may argue that this is just a movie, I am using Joker as an example of what is happening in our society. If you pay attention, you will notice that many troubled youth have the same problem — a lack of guidance and instruction.

When we encounter profound pain, our only refuge may be laughter, for life can be strikingly cruel. This becomes a powerful coping mechanism, a desperate attempt to drown out the agony. The Joker’s journey to become a comedian was not merely a pursuit of laughter; it was a poignant escape from the torment that lingered within him. I can still feel the weight of that heartbreaking scene with Morty; it remains etched in my memory as one of the most sorrowful moments I’ve witnessed in ages. And what was Morty’s response? Instead of offering solace, he chose to hurl insults at the Joker, revealing a disheartening lack of empathy when compassion was most needed.

    2–3 minutes

Even if he intended to have him arrested, he should have at least had the decency to wait until the show wrapped up. But there it was, a shocking scene; the Joker declared, “my life is a joke.” That statement landed like a punch to the gut. We all know how this twisted tale concludes, yet it’ll sadly go unnoticed. As usual, make the most of your day, but remember: you matter more than you dare to believe.

  • Beauty is subjective only if you’re blind.

    Author: Alex Stevenson

    Date: 8/28/2025 8:30 am

    Introduction

We can pick our outfits, but we can’t really control how we look, right? Some folks definitely have it easier because of their looks, but being nice or funny helps a lot too. We all get that some people just get treated better – it’s how it is. Everyone’s got their own gift; it just not be what they’re focused on at the moment.

    How Are You Doing Today?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your day?

    1. 😐 Three
    2. 🙂 Seven
    3. 😄 Ten

Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!

Many people have unique talents that not align with their current pursuits. For example, some are wonderful drawers who find joy in sports. Others are gifted orators who thrive as singers or dancers. If individuals get guidance to discover their true gifts, they would lead a happier life. It would be more fulfilling for many. This approach would reduce stress and allow them to embrace their passions.

    Body

But when you own true beauty, it can truly change the dynamics around you. People respond differently when they perceive true beauty. The word “no” becomes a rarity in your interactions. It’s fascinating how effortlessly others are drawn to you. I have a cousin who seems to embody this undeniable charm in our family. He often receives exceptional treatment—at least, that’s what my other cousin says, though I wonder if jealousy influences that perspective. I can’t overlook the captivating presence he brings. When he walks into a room, it’s as if a radiant light fills the space. This light brings smiles and warmth to everyone here.

    How Do You Define Beauty?

    1. Inner (character, kindness, personality)
    2. Outer (physical appearance)
    3. Other (please specify)

Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!

But I spoke with him, and he claimed that I have no idea how fortunate I am. He insisted that when we were kids, I had it easy. Nevertheless, now that I’m an adult, it seems I have a target on my back. Apparently, I can’t go anywhere without being followed; he thinks people underestimate me because of my looks. I chose not to share that this so-called part of life must be faced. I recognized he just wanted someone to listen. Still, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at his dramatic perspective.

    Conclusion

But I bet he wouldn’t swap lives with anyone. He’s a consultant and basks in perks that the average Joe can only dream of! It’s like living in a VIP lounge while the rest of us are stuck in the waiting area. Sure, we all have our problems. If you’re dubbed “ugly,” at least you get to float under the radar. Nobody’s bothering you because your face has been officially designated as “challenged”! It’s a low-pressure zone, my friend!

“The eyes are the window to your soul; in their gaze, one may find a reflection of the heart’s true nature.”
    — William Shakespeare

In life, attractive individuals often find more opportunities. This is obvious in the movie No Hard Feelings. Jennifer Lawrence effortlessly navigates her romantic adventures. She cleverly secured a chance to date a younger man through a creative ad. Their connection blossomed. She won back his forgiveness after a misunderstanding. It’s heartwarming to think that with charm and positivism, we can overcome obstacles. This illustrates that kindness and understanding triumph in relationships. As always, stay positive and have a wonderful day!

  • Are You the Chosen One? Only Time Will Tell.

    Author: Alex Stevenson
    Date: August 28 2025, 5:30 AM

In a world where destiny intertwines with choice, the question lingers: Are you the chosen one? Join us as we embark on a captivating journey through the unknown, guided by the enigmatic Tim. With every twist and turn, the truth will unfold, revealing secrets that change everything. Prepare to be enthralled as we dive into a tale of fate, courage, and the ultimate quest for identity. What path will you choose? Only Tim will tell.

    Prepare for the worst!

    Intro/ The meaning of title.

Are you really different from the crowd? I mean, you’re not just different because you jive with different music or food. It’s also because of your vibe and way of thinking. Some cool folks take a while to really shine. They are unique in their own ways. That uniqueness takes time to grow.

Poll: Do You Consider Yourself Special?

Question: Do you consider yourself special?

    • [ ] Yes, I am unique and have my own talents.
    • [ ] No, I feel like I’m just like everyone else.
    • [ ] Sometimes, I feel special in certain situations.
    • [ ] I’m not sure how to define what ‘special’ means.

Feel free to vote, comment answer, and share your thoughts!

Some of them are exceptionally good-looking, extremely smart, or gifted in various fields. As a child, it’s often easier to navigate the world. You are seen as small and cute. This is something your parents love to show off. The dynamics shift as you grow older and enter high school. It’s an exciting time. You start to embrace greater responsibilities and opportunities. Now, you have the chance to make your own choices and forge a path that reflects who you truly are.

    Body/Childhood & Discovery

After this, you enter college. Suddenly, the rules become trickier. You’re presented with this illusion of freedom. You can pick your classes and choose between in-person or online. Yet, you’d better wake up to the reality that time is money. You’re amassing debt. You’re also squandering opportunities to earn money and build connections. This situation makes you wonder if this whole college experience is really worth it.

Poll: How Were You Treated as a Child?

    • Well: I had a supportive and positive upbringing.
    • Poorly: I faced challenges and difficulties during my childhood.
    • Differently: I was picked on or left alone based on my personality.

Feel free to vote, comment answer, and share your thoughts!

Did you graduate? If so, props to you; if not, tough luck—it’s time to gear up for what comes next. Remember, you’re special. It’s not just about that or who you roll with. Your unique talent will dictate how wild and successful your twenties can actually get. Are you an artist from the gritty streets or a writer with grit? Brace yourself—your path will be nothing short of treacherous.

Conclusion/ Dealing with family & making tough choices

But this experience will profoundly shape you for the future. This is without even considering the impact of having children. Children can deeply influence your life. There are also the bonds in relationships that are hard to release, particularly within the family dynamic. When you return home, it can feel different. You find yourself needing to make tough choices about your place within the family. They try to assign you a specific role. This push you into a position that feels more subservient. It can be much like in a workplace. It’s important to navigate these situations with care and understanding.

“Power is not an illusion; it is our most primal emotion. To become a master of it, one must study the dynamics of human nature and learn to navigate the shadows of others’ desires.”
    — Robert Greene

But if you are truly extraordinary, you won’t yield to pressure—that’s precisely how you recognize your uniqueness. The greatest gift one can get is a sound mind. It is a treasure that eclipses all others, at least from my humble perspective. Yet, midst this intricate tapestry, one family member fall in line out of fear. Another bravely remains an outcast. But that’s perfectly okay. They are destined to embody that role.
