Intro

Every time I try to leave they keep pulling me back in. Don Michael Corleone truly the Michael Jordan of the Mafia film industry. Often this film gets criticized because it’s being compared to the first two movies but I find this movie better than the first and almost as good as the second.

“I’m not as strong as you, Michael. I tried to be, but I just couldn’t handle the weight of this world.” – Fredo Corleone

This film encapsulates the end of a great reign. They say all good things come to an end but I say Michael defied the odds and went out victorious as far as what we saw from the first three films. Think about it if you had to live one way as a don you would replicate Michael he beat his case he avenged his first wife and father and only had to suffer the loss of his new wife.

Now obviously we cannot overlook the fact that he lost his daughter. Now that’s rough but compare that to how Sonny went out and how the 5 families were taken out by Michael cunning plan he executed after plotting for years. He had to make a choice with freedom, a harsh one and one I wouldn’t advise but in that situation he made the right choice.

Now remember this movie was to show you the results of Michael led choices. Similar to all of us that’s why it resonates how we conduct ourselves in our youth determines how we live when we’re older. Michael had a scene where he yelled Fredo’s name in pure agony. I still don’t understand why Michael continued drinking orange juice that clearly wasn’t healthy For him.

Conclusion

As we get deeper Michael’s sins catch up with him during confession. Do you understand why this movie is so powerful? It shows the results of living the wrong way and making choices that will always affect you. Michael also reunites with Connie who previously was Michael’s foe now a member of Michael’s trusted allies.

Michael really had no choice well at least in his mind. You see he could have walked away with Kay but he would have gotten removed from the Corleone family and possibly harmed. The godfather 3 also deals with the many devices of society and how things change when you meet the correct people. This movie has too many layers for one article!
