While social media and influencers might have you thinking that being average is like wearing socks with sandals—an absolute fashion crime—the reality is that embracing your inner average Joe can be one of the most empowering moves a young man in America can make. Just look at the weekly soap opera with male entertainers who end up in lawsuits or facing wild accusations; even when they’re as innocent as a kitten, their reputations resemble that of a cat in a dog park. Clearly, choosing a nice, stable, average lifestyle is like picking a cozy couch over a rollercoaster—who wouldn’t want a path filled with snacks and integrity instead of thrills and drama?
Riddle:
I can run, but I never walk. I have a mouth, but I never talk. I can be a friend or sometimes a foe, what am I?
Answer: A river!
The old adage asks, “What’s the point of being average?” But let’s get real for a moment: there are billions of people in this world, and guess what? Most of us are just blandly ordinary! Living off the grid sounds all noble, right? But participating in an underground potato sack race doesn’t exactly scream ‘nonconformist!’ As a young man, brace yourself—you’ll face accusations that are more absurd than a cat attempting to meow in Spanish.

Why would anyone want to be on camera? Probably because it’s easier to acquire free meals and access to beautiful women. But that’s not worth the stress because when people say you are regular they mean you’re not a celebrity and you don’t have millions of dollars.
“Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.”
— John F. Kennedy
Living a comparative life as a young man in America can be detrimental to your spirit. I’m not advocating for laziness or a lack of ambition, but it’s imperative to march to the beat of your own drum! Stressing yourself out for the fleeting approval of others is a fruitless endeavor—today’s admiration can vanish tomorrow! Embrace your unique journey and pursue your dreams at your own pace!
What truly matters is what’s on the inside, far beyond the shallow judgments others make from the outside. We’ve all heard the cliché “never judge a book by its cover,” but let’s get real: it’s time to unapologetically embrace our authentic selves. Each morning, when you gaze into the mirror, remind yourself that you are a fierce individual crafting your own narrative, not merely a hollow reflection molded by the fickle standards of social media.
How much money is considered elite?
- 1. 100,000 a year but minimal time off
- 2. 400,000 a year but no time off
- 3. 60,000 a year a lot of time to spend with family
We all have to play nice with social norms, but we certainly don’t need to turn ourselves into bland mashed potatoes! It’s hilarious how folks get all huffy about being labeled regular or basic—when did that become an insult? I mean, picture this: a guy spends twenty-five years as an electrician, retires, and ends up with a cozy family life while never making the newspapers for dodging the law. Sounds like a classic ‘regular dude’ to me, just chomping on his sandwich during lunch breaks and tackling live wires like a champ.
Alex Stevenson- “Being average is a reflection of the cardinal mind.”
