Subtitle: When we hit rock bottom where do we turn to?

Intro

Far too often you read a headline that’s discussing someone’s financial situation. Since when was it fashionable to discuss this topic especially because none of us have a real grasp of what’s going on. Reading what the news says doesn’t give the headline validation, it’s just something to fill a space when everything else has been talked about.

Every week someone is filing for bankruptcy or losing half in a divorce. Don’t we all have a financial crisis story that’s the one commonality most people who are not billionaires have. Let’s not even begin with social media, how that’s always the first insult levied at someone is their financial status.

Body

Let me play a scenario: let’s say you hit the lotto and invest in several businesses. You get a great deal of success but you forget to check your taxes so you get a letter from the IRS saying you owe 10.5 million in taxes. Worse news ever and your face is now over social media and television so future business partners are scared off so now you owe money and you cannot close the deal to help you out financially.

So what do you do? Court is right around the corner and now your family cannot handle the stress so they leave and everywhere you go you’re reminded of your failures. Now you have to sell your assets to pay for legal fees and you still have to do a minimum of 8 months for tax invasion. Do you see how one news story can ruin someone’s life? See, we just see these stories as news but these are real people having their finances scrutinized by the public.

Conclusion

They can’t fight the press and the law at the same time. But once again worrying about someone’s finances never leads to anything good in life. Once you embrace this mindset you start becoming noisy and looking for other places you shouldn’t have. These will lead to more stress, conflict, and confusion in your own life.

We all have had some type of financial issues in our life. I try to see these stories as what not to do especially when it comes to taxes that seems to always occur. I’ve found usually with these stories certain characters get portrayed a certain way based on the character they not necessarily reality. As always you matter more than you think. Have a great day.
